Inward ("the App") is developed by WildCat Trio Limited, 20 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 H364, Ireland. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
All your journal entries, mood data, memories, and personal information are stored locally on your device. We do not operate user accounts or cloud storage. Your data never leaves your device except as described below.
When you receive AI reflections or use the AI chat feature, your journal entry text is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Google processes this data to generate a response and does not store your entries for training or any other purpose beyond providing the service. No personally identifying information (name, email, etc.) is sent — only the journal text necessary for generating a reflection.
Inward does not require user accounts, email addresses, or passwords. The app offers an optional local PIN lock for on-device security. This PIN is stored only on your device.
We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data and crash reports. This helps us improve app stability and understand general usage patterns. This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you or your journal content. You may opt out of analytics in the app settings.
Subscription purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store payment information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your journal content is never used for advertising or marketing purposes.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app. We have no server-side data to delete.
Inward is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
